First spotted in August, YouTube Music is now rolling out an upgrade to the Quick picks shelf that lets you create a radio based on multiple songs.
This carousel now shows ‘plus’ buttons at the right of each song. You can select multiple to create a radio based on those tracks. Tap “Start radio” in the top-right corner to begin playback or the ‘x’ to cancel.
“Playing from” at the top of the Up Next queue will note what songs were used for the station.
This is a fast way to generate a more custom radio station based on specific songs, while making Quick picks more useful. I’m already a big fan of the “Play all” shortcut introduced in 2023, with today’s change helping differentiate it further from Speed dial.
That said, a nice upgrade to Quick picks would be if tapping does not open the Now Playing screen automatically. The Speed dial and Top songs (on artist pages) behavior of just using the miniplayer is quite nice.
We’re seeing this Quick picks radio upgrade widely rolled out in YouTube Music for Android and iOS today.
