You Can Now Schedule Posts On Threads

Ever since is launched in 2023, Threads has been gathering new features left and right to compete with X. It’s been working, as the platform saw its user base skyrocket. Threads delivered an update with some new features, including the ability to schedule posts.

New updates

Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, made a post on Threads not too long ago explaining the new features that the team brought. Starting off with the list, you’ll be able to see the metrics for individual posts in your insights. This is great for people who want to know which kinds of posts aren’t resonating with their audiences.

Next, and this one is a pretty interesting feature, the app will allow you to markup a post that you’re sharing. This means that, when you’re about to share a post, you’ll be able to draw on it. This is useful if you want to highlight a bit of text, circle something, draw an arrow pointing to something of interest, or draw phallic images on recently-elected figures.

We can’t really recall any social media platform that offers this functionality natively. Sure, it’s easy to do this by taking a screenshot and editing it. However, it’s better to have the feature right there in the app. It eliminates extra steps.

Along with the update, Mosseri let us know that you can now schedule posts on the platform. This is something that this platform has over X. While you can schedule posts using X for the web, you can’t while using the app, which is odd. However, it’s just another example of the annoying gap between website and app performance across the industry.

In any case, if you want to schedule a post, you can set it to post up to 75 days in the future. It seems odd that someone would want to schedule a post more than two months in advance, but it can come in handy for people or companies that have important dates coming up. Maybe a company wants to schedule a post to commemorate a famous figure’s birthday.

That’s just one use for this feature. Most users should have access to the updates mentioned above already. If you don’t, be sure to update your app.
