Xbox Game Streaming Launches On LG TVs

Following a prior expansion to Samsung TVs, Microsoft is now bringing an Xbox app with game streaming support on LG TVs.

Available starting today, LG TVs running webOS 24 or newer can download and use the Xbox app to stream games through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The app works on 2022 OLED TVs from LG as well as 2023 LG Smart TVs, as well as the models LG has released in the time since.

You’ll need to bring your own controller for this to work. An Xbox controller is ideal, but anything that connects over Bluetooth should work, including PlayStation DualSense and others.

Microsoft explains:

For owners of LG TVs running latest webOS 24 and newer – including 2022 OLED TVs and select 2023 LG Smart TVs which received a firmware upgrade – you can download the Xbox app from the app store. Once downloaded, the Xbox app is designed to offer a smooth and seamless cloud gaming experience. Here’s how it works:

1. Navigate to the LG Gaming Portal from either Gaming Q-Card or LG Gaming Portal on the Home Page.
2. Download and launch the Xbox app.
3. Sign into or create your Microsoft account.
4. Connect a compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller. Controllers like the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PlayStation DualSense, or DualShock 4 controller are all compatible.
5. Pick a game and start playing!
