World’s Thinnest Foldable Could Include A Telemacro Camera

The world’s thinnest foldable smartphone could end up including a telephoto macro aka telemacro camera. We are, of course, talking about the OPPO Find N5. That phone is coming later this month, and it was confirmed to become the thinnest around by the company’s exec.

The information regarding the telemacro camera comes from Smart Pikachu, a tipster. He claims that both the OPPO Find X8 Ultra and OPPO Find N5 will include such a camera.

Considering that neither phone is tipped to include a regular telephoto camera, we’re looking at a periscope telephoto camera here. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is actually expected to include two such cameras.

What does that mean? That means that you’ll use the periscope telephoto camera on both smartphones to capture macro photos. In our opinion, that’s definitely a better option than using an ultrawide camera.

With the periscope telephoto camera, you don’t need to get as close to the subject, not at all. That gives you a lot more options when shooting macro photos. We sure prefer this solution.

The OPPO Find N5 will feature three 50-megapixel cameras on the back

The OPPO Find N5 will, allegedly, include three 50-megapixel cameras on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera will be backed by periscope telephoto and ultrawide units. Hasselblad will also be a part of the package.

The OPPO Find N5 will be thinner than the HONOR Magic V3 based on what OPPO teased. It will retain flat sides and a camera oreo on the back. The OnePlus Open 2 could actually borrow the OPPO Find N5’s design, as its predecessor did from the OPPO Find N3.

Yes, the OPPO Find N5 will get a global variant, but we’re not sure about the OPPO Find N8 Ultra. Its predecessor was available in China only, so… it remains to be seen.
