What Is The Sony Xperia 1 VII Screen Size?

Sony recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia 1 VII. While Sony isn’t as active in the smartphone scene as before, the company still commands a loyal legion of fans. So, if you are considering picking up the phone, here are additional details about the Sony Xperia 1 VII screen size.

In terms of screen size, Sony hasn’t changed anything from its predecessor. The Sony Xperia 1 VII still sports the same screen size as the previous model, meaning you can expect a 6.5-inch display. It also maintains the exact resolution—2340 x 1080, which means you’ll get a pixel density of around 396 PPI.

Sony is also using the same Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 as the display cover, so you can expect similar protection levels. Is this necessarily a bad thing? Not really. While some phones sport larger displays, we think 6.5 inches is just nice. It’s not too big or too small. We wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s perfect for one-handed use, but it’s definitely more manageable compared to phones with 6.8-inch displays or larger.

Other specs to look forward to

Apart from the 6.5-inch screen size, here are some of the changes Sony has made to the Xperia 1 VII over the Xperia 1 VI. For starters, the chipset is different. Sony is equipping its latest flagship phone with Qualcomm’s latest chipset—the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This is a step up from the previous model, which used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Sony is keeping the memory the same. The Xperia 1 VII has 12GB of RAM across the board and is available in 256GB or 512GB storage options. Both use UFS 4.0 storage. 

One of the more notable changes is in the camera department. The Xperia 1 VI had a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP main, a 12MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide. However, with the Xperia 1 VII, Sony has upgraded the ultrawide to 48MP with a wider f/2.0 aperture. This should help with low-light photography if you plan to shoot with the ultrawide camera. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, remains the same at 12MP. As far as the battery is concerned, the Xperia 1 VII ships with a 5,000mAh battery, the same as its predecessor. It still supports 30W wired PD3.0 charging and 15W wireless charging.
