Walmart quietly launched the Onn 4K Plus, a $30 Google TV streaming device, now available for order online.
The device is only available in the US and Puerto Rico via Walmart.com.
The Onn 4K Plus boasts upgraded specs, offering 16GB storage, Dolby support, Wi-Fi 6, and Google TV compatibility.
People loved the Chromecast. Alas, Google decided to discontinue the $35 TV dongle last year in favor of the Google TV Streamer . But Walmart has stepped in to fill the void.

Walmart has quietly released the Onn 4K Plus (via 9to5Google). It’s a new $30 Google TV streaming device that steps in as the spiritual successor to the much-beloved Chromecast. There were weeks of leaks and sporadic sightings of the Onn 4K Plus, but the streaming box is now available for order on Walmart’s website and shipping across the US.
The Onn 4K Plus is an upgrade from Walmart’s previous streaming hardware. It offers 16GB of internal storage, support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, and a modern USB-C connector.
The streaming box is powered by a faster quad-core Cortex A55 CPU and carries 2GB of RAM. It runs Google TV out of the box and supports Google Assistant, casting from Android devices, and apps via the Play Store.
This streamer does everything the Chromecast with Google TV could do. At only $30 it is even cheaper than the Chromecast. Anyone who misses that dependable Google dongle should consider the Onn 4K Plus.
Shoppers in the US can begin ordering the Onn 4K Plus online, with delivery available as soon as May 20. Availability across local Walmart stores varies, although some people have been able to pick up the device after placing an online order.
Walmart launched this with no fanfare
Walmart made no formal announcement about the launch of the Onn 4K Plus. Previous Onn-branded devices have been successful, and they gained a following thanks to their solid performance at rock-bottom prices. That sounds a lot like the Google Chromecast of yesteryear.
The more expensive and less Chromecast-like Onn 4K Pro launched in Canada last week, again without any fanfare from Walmart. Despite the Pro version going international, the 4K Plus remains limited to the US and Puerto Rico.
