If you check out the images in the gallery below, you’ll see the company’s first Mixed Reality headset. Vivo does refer to this device as a ‘prototype’, but it’s easily possible this could be its final design.

The name of this MR headset is ‘Vivo Vision’, in case you were wondering, and it seems like that’s what it will be called once it becomes official. Speaking of which, we do know when it will launch. The company’s first MR headset will get a proper launch mid-year. An exact month or date was not shared yet.

With this announcement, Vivo plans to “strengthen its real-time spatial computing capabilities for future applications in consumer robotics.” Speaking of robotics, Vivo had an announcement dedicated to that too.

Vivo is opening a robotics laboratory, and that MR headset will play a part in the whole robotics ordeal

The company has announced the establishment of a robotics laboratory. It’s referred to as the Vivo Robotics Laboratory, and it’s “marking a new strategic innovation track for the company.”

Vivo says that it will focus on building the “brain” and “eyes” of robots, leveraging its experience in fields like AI large learning models and imaging, together with the real-time spatial computing capabilities accumulated through the aforementioned MR device, the Vivo Vision.

While the company’s MR headset was kind of expected following some rumors last year, the same cannot be said for the robotics aspect of things. That comes as a complete, but welcomed surprise.
