We’re all used to seeing AI-generated content on social media and video-sharing sites, and that trend isn’t going away anytime soon. Well, thanks to a new announcement from Google, it looks like we’re going to be seeing a lot more. Veo 2, Google’s latest video model, will be integrated into Dream Screen for YouTube Shorts.
Google unveiled its Veo 2 model back in December, and it was a major upgrade over the first model. We saw Veo 2 produce some hyperrealistic videos for better or for worse. At this point, we don’t know how the company plans to implement this model into its products outside of the topic of this article. In any case, we’re sure that we’ll find out soon enough.
Veo 2 is coming to Dream Screen in YouTube Shorts
If you’re an avid YouTube Shorts maker, then you should be familiar with Dream Screen. If you’re not familiar, it’s a tool that allows you to use AI to generate backgrounds for your shorts. Using the Green Screen option, you’ll be able to add a text prompt and have Google’s AI model do all the work.
You can either have Google generate an image background or have it generate a video for you. All of the content that Google creates is high-quality, as you’d expect from a trillion-dollar company. What you can also expect are the usual safety guidelines that you’d expect from typical image-generation platforms.
Now, when you use the Dream Screen option, the video will be created by Veo 2. As such, you should expect more accurate and high-quality video clips. You’re not only able to use the model to create backgrounds. You can also use the model to generate intros for your videos and even full clips.
Right now, this feature is only available in a few markets. These are the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
