Threads Rose To 320 Million Monthly Active Users
Threads is still growing at an impressive pace, the social media app rose to 320 million monthly active users. Quite a few users are still looking for an X alternative, so that surely had something to do with these numbers.
Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced this during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings. Considering that Threads had 300 million monthly active users in December, this is quite the jump.
For comparison purposes, in November last year, 275 million users were actively using Threads. Bluesky also managed to rose quite a bit in recent months, mainly thanks to X, but it’s nowhere near Threads’ numbers. It has a total of 26.44 million users.
Mark Zuckerberg also noted that Threads is adding more than 1 million daily signups, which is impressive. Meta is working hard to add new features to Threads, in order to appeal to even more people.
Meta is adding new features to Threads… constantly
Features such as scheduling posts have been added recently. Meta is also experimenting with some new ads for Threads in the US and Japan. The company is hoping that such a move will help expand reach too.
It is also worth noting that Threads is making updates to its recommendation system. Meta’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Susan Li, said as much during Wednesday’s earnings call. She said that this change aims to “prioritize more recent posts, surface content from top creators, and ensure people see more of the content from accounts they follow.”
It remains to be seen if this growth will continue in the remainder of the year, but Threads has turned out to be a huge success for Meta thus far. It launched at the right time, with Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, and managed to gain a lot of traction from the get-go.
