This Pixel Watch 3 Feature Just Might Save Your Life!

Summary: After months of waiting, Google finally started rolling out the Loss of Pulse Detection feature. After gaining FDA certification, Google began distributing the feature, and users should expect to see it within the next couple of weeks.
Smartwatches are for much more than just checking your notifications and making you look cool. Companies typically stuff all sorts of health and wellness features into them. This can make smartwatches your first line of defense when it comes to detecting health issues.
One health feature that people have been waiting for is called Loss of Pulse Detection. This is a Pixel Watch 3-exclusive feature that Google advertised a while back. Basically, if the watch detects that your heart has stopped, it will immediately contact emergency services to come to your aid.
It’s an interesting feature, but Google has had to keep it from the public for a while. The company needed to get the thumbs up from the U.S. FDA before it could send it out. FDA approval is crucial if you want to distribute a feature for U.S. users. For example, the OnePlus Watch 3 has an ECG device that can help you monitor your heart health. However, since the FDA denied its application, users in the U.S. can’t use the feature.
Google is rolling out Loss of Pulse Detection for users
As with every rollout, there’s a chance that you won’t get it right away. Google is now rolling out the feature, but the process could take just a few weeks. So, if you don’t get the feature right away, then you’ll want to be patient for a few days.
Once you get the feature, you’ll want to make sure you enable it. You’ll do this through the Pixel Watch app on your phone. Head over to the Safety & emergency section of the settings. From there, go to the Loss of Pulse Detection section. You’ll be able to enable it there and adjust any settings.
Just know that the watch will be constantly monitoring your heart, which might have an impact on the battery’s life. However, it could have a much more positive impact on your life.
