The Sony Xperia 1 V Is Finally Getting The Android 15 Update

Sony’s 2023 flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 V, is finally getting the Android 15 update. This comes two months after the company rolled out the latest Android OS update to the Xperia 1 VI.

Sony starts rolling out the Android 15 update to the Xperia 1 V

Folks over at YTECHB first reported it a few days back and noted that the latest update carries the firmware version 67.2.A.2.41. Sony, on the other hand, has released all the changes coming to the Xperia 1 V with the Android 15 update.

Not to mention, there are plenty of new features and changes. For starters, Android 15 brings the private space feature to the Xperia 1 V. This feature lets you keep your apps in a separate space inside the app drawer. As one can guess, you can lock the private space to keep your apps and data private.

The update also introduces changes to the wallpaper and style settings, offering new experiences to the users. Next, the Dashboard feature has been added to the Side Sense, allowing you to make quick changes to the most-used settings.

The Quick Settings panel also sees some new changes, including the addition of a new screenshot tool. Some of the other changes coming with Android 15 are related to the Pop-up window, audio sharing, and SIM settings. Moreover, Sony has also renamed the Headphones Connect app; the company now calls it the “Sony | Sound Connect.

The update is initially rolling out in some European countries

Per the report, the update is initially rolling out for the Xperia 1 V users across European countries like Germany, Sweden, and more. So, if you are living in any of these regions, make sure to check your device for the software update.

You can do so by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Software Update. On the Software Update page, your device will scan for new updates. If the update pops up, make sure to tap the Update option.

The latest software update reportedly comes with a download size of just over a gigabyte. Moreover, we also expect Sony to roll out the update to other regions, including the US, soon.
