The Original AAWireless Adapter For Wireless Android Auto Has Unexpectedly Returned

Following the debut of its sequel, AAWireless was removed from sale earlier this year, but has now returned amid stock issues for the new model.

AAWireless first launched a few years ago as the original adapter for turning a wired Android Auto connection into a wireless one. The affordable dongle opened the door to this functionality for many, but the market has grown considerably in time since with many more options now available for purchase.

In October 2024, AAWireless TWO launched as a replacement for this original device, bringing updated physical design with a new multi-function button, as well as new internal hardware. However, for the past several weeks, AAWireless TWO has been unavailable for purchase via Amazon, its normal sales channel, with buyers instead only able to purchase the device via the official AAWireless website.

Now, in an unexpected turn of events, the original AAWireless has resurfaced on Amazon.

The dongle is once again available for purchase for $59.99 – $5 less than AAWireless TWO – and is shipping in early March. While it lacks Prime, this does appear to be an official seller account for AAWireless, as it’s registered to the same business address as the company.

The cause for a return of the original AAWireless is unclear especially as it was fully removed from Amazon for a while, but it does come with a noteworthy benefit. AAWireless TWO lacks CarPlay support entirely, as a “Plus” version will be coming with that functionality sometime early this year, but the original adapter does support CarPlay in beta.

Meanwhile, if you do want the updated hardware, AAWireless TWO is still available for purchase via the company’s website.
