When it was released last year, the OnePlus 12R was highly regarded as one of the best budget Android phones to hit the market, taking after it’s more expensive counterpart — the OnePlus 12. OnePlus has decided that the 12R is going to get a permanent price cut, likely making some room for the newest model.
Its original price of $499 was never regarded as too much. In fact, the price point set by OnePlus was part of the success that the phone had, considering it brought good hardware and software to a subset of users within that price range.
Now that the OnePlus 13R is out, the company is cutting the price of the OnePlus 12R. This price drop seems to be specifically at Best Buy, according to an email from OnePlus. Two models will be affected, including the 8GB and 15GB variant. The 12R with lower RAM will come in at $399, while the 16GG model will get a drop to $499.
While it isn’t as exciting as a brand-new phone seeing a permanent price cut, the OnePlus 12R is still a great phone in 2025. That $100 off means it’s now even more accessible, which is good for the market as a whole. It’s unclear if this offer extends past Best Buy’s walls, but it is clear that it isn’t some limited-time promotion.
It looks like the new OnePlus 12R price is already live on Best Buy’s website. The 16GB model shows up with the new $499 tag, though it’s hard to tell which model you’re looking at without digging into the specs.
