Samsung’s Android tablets might hog all the limelight, but the OnePlus Pad 2 tops our list of the best Android tablets. It stands out with its 3K display, snappy performance, and long battery life. This is despite the odd display aspect ratio and rear camera placement. As the OnePlus Pad 2’s launch anniversary approaches, OnePlus has announced that it will launch its successor, the OnePlus Pad 3, as soon as next month.

OnePlus will officially take the wraps off the OnePlus Pad 3 on June 5, but it shared some key information about the device today, including confirming a US launch.
The company also shared an image revealing the Pad 3’s new iPad Air-inspired design. It will ditch the oddly-located rear camera bump, instead shifting the module to the top-left corner near the volume buttons and power key. Even the speaker grille will get an iPad-style makeover.
In the image OnePlus shared, the OnePlus Pad 3 could be easily mistaken for an iPad, albeit one with dual rear cameras and without an Apple logo. The only clear giveaways are the rear POGO pins and the OnePlus branding. On previous OnePlus tablets, the pins were located on the bottom edge and not directly on the back.

OnePlus will equip the Pad 3 with Qualcomm’s best mobile SoC right now, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The same chip does duty inside the OnePlus 13, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and several other flagship Android phones.
OnePlus Pad 3 software will pack some nice upgrades
Besides the hardware, OnePlus will optimize OxygenOS 15 to better utilize the Pad 3’s bigger screen. It will feature an “upgraded Open Canvas,” promising an even better multitasking experience. Open Canvas is already among the most intuitive ways to multitask on foldables and tablets, so it will be interesting to see how OnePlus further improves it.
Another new software feature will allow Pad 3 owners to remotely control their Mac and seamlessly share files via drag-and-drop. This tool is already available on some recent flagship Oppo devices, but it will debut in the US on the OnePlus Pad 3.
The OnePlus 3 will fully go official on June 5. The company will start accepting preorders from the same day as well, with attractive trade-in offers, student discounts, and more.
