The Moto G86 Might Be 2025’s Budget Phone To Beat – Here’s Why

Contents
Get ready for the Moto G86, a phone that looks like a flagship but comes at a budget price. Leaked specs show a gorgeous 120Hz display, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, and a massive battery, making it a solid contender for anyone looking for power without breaking the bank.
Motorola’s Moto G86 is set to arrive in the very near future, and if it weren’t for a leak of the full specs there wouldn’t be much information out there about the device until it’s fully revealed by Motorola. That being said, the specs for the device have now been leaked entirely, and there’s nothing left to the imagination if you were curious about what this device was rocking under the hood.
It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first time the Moto G86 has leaked. The phone was first revealed (unofficially) through leaked images back in mid-April. At that time, however, there wasn’t much detail about the specs, other than a couple of rumors about the RAM and storage.
As of today, there’s now a full picture of the specs details on offer, including the rumored 50MP main camera, screen size, refresh rate, and even how many years of updates the phone will get.
Moto G86 specs leak, revealing two variants
A full list of specs for Motorola’s upcoming budget phone makes it look a little less like a budget phone and more like an affordable premium offering. It sports a large, 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, for starters. So, Motorola seems to be pulling out all the stops here. It gets better, though. There will apparently be two variants of the phone. Each one will have slightly different values for the RAM, storage, and battery capacity.
According to the specs image, which was leaked by Evan Blass on X, the Moto G86 will have a base model that comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There will also be a model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. As for the batteries, the base model will have a slightly smaller capacity at 5,200mAh. Meanwhile, the other model comes with a 6,720mAh battery for a bit of extra juice. Both, however, will come with a 33W TurboPower charger.
The phone also features dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos. So if you use your phone for entertainment, this should make the audio more immersive and your content more enjoyable.
There’s no word on price, but the Moto G series has always been inexpensive
Surprisingly, there isn’t a price associated with the leak. That’s something you might have expected a rumor for at this point. Given that Motorola is said to be launching this phone sometime in June. Of course, this is solely based on the fact that the Moto G85 launched in June last year. So, there’s always the chance Motorola switches things up this time around.
All of that being said, the Moto G series has always been inexpensive. Last year’s model retails at full price for $269.99. So, don’t be surprised if the new model is close to that price point. In addition to these leaked details, we exclusively leaked information on two other upcoming Motorola phones. Specifically, the Moto G Power 2026 and the Moto G 2026, next year’s follow-ups to the phones revealed back in January.
