The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Vapor Chamber Is Huge!

Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 series yesterday with some hardware improvements and many in terms of software. The company has chosen to rely on improvements and optimizations, along with the Galaxy AI features, to go up against its main competitors. This year, Samsung managed to include a larger-than-ever VC (vapor chamber) for cooling in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which will potentially guarantee high performance sustained for long periods.

Samsung keeps making the copper vapor chamber in its top-of-the-line Galaxy S Ultra phones bigger. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s was already larger than its predecessor, the S23 Ultra, and the latest S25 Ultra follows the same path. The company claims that the vapor chamber implemented in its most premium latest mobile flagship is up to 40% bigger than the previous generation. An image shared by TechHome100 on X/Twitter compares both of them head-to-head.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s VC cooling area is much larger than the S24 Ultra’s. The South Korean giant was able to make the copper block’s heat dissipation much bigger in some way. This is a tech feat considering that the device is even slightly shorter and thinner than its predecessor.

Galaxy S25 Ultra cooling vapor chamber vs S24 Ultra

The Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. This version reaches clock speeds of up to 4.47 GHz (vs. 4.32 GHz of the regular variant). So, the inclusion of a bigger vapor chamber was most likely necessary. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is fairly efficient in its segment, but it is inevitable that it generates some heat. After all, it’s a powerful flagship SoC that achieves very high CPU clock speeds.

Unfortunately, there is no similar comparison for the vapor chambers on the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+. Being larger, the Galaxy S25 Ultra allows for a larger copper block. This will come in handy for highly demanding usage scenarios on the chipset and GPU. The list includes intensive gaming at high graphics settings—including AAA emulation—rendering videos at high resolutions, and more.

Currently, the Galaxy S25 series is available for pre-order, with shipping set to begin on February 7.
