Post its acquisition by Google in 2021, Fitbit has gradually started to lose its identity. The last Fitbit fitness tracker released was almost a year ago — the Ace LTE. However, despite that, Google continues to support existing Fitbit trackers and still updates the app and wearables from time to time. The app’s Health Metrics page recently got a redesign, and now the Device Settings page has been refreshed too.

First spotted by 9to5Google, the Fitbit app for Android is getting a new design for the settings page of connected Fitbit trackers, resembling the layout seen in the Pixel Watch companion app. The updated page shows a large preview of the connected tracker with the watch face prominently displayed, just like how Pixel Watch settings show a preview in the Pixel Watch app.

Old vs. new Fitbit settings UI

Connection status and battery info are now positioned below the preview, while the “Sync now” button has moved to the top-right corner. The app list shown below the preview in the old UI is now replaced with cleaner, Pixel-style buttons for Apps, Watch faces, and Tiles.

Settings are now organized into sections like Notifications (for managing alerts and calls), Google (for Wallet and Maps), Device Preferences, and Fitbit Reminders & Alerts (for heart rate and move reminders), similar to the Pixel Watch app’s structure. There don’t appear to be any new settings, but the update offers a much cleaner and more modern look, replacing the aging previous layout.

That said, it’s great to see Google still supporting Fitbit OS-powered devices, even though development of new devices has ended. Fitbit trackers remain among the best and most reliable fitness trackers available.

If you’re looking to join the Fitbit ecosystem, now is actually a good time, since most Fitbit trackers are currently discounted. The Charge 6, which comes with an AMOLED display and week-long battery life, is currently 25% off, while the sleeker Inspire 3 with 10-day battery life is now $20 off.
