Summary: The latest Android 15 security patch is rolling out to eligible Pixel devices. It brings a number of updates to the security and functionality of these phones.
It’s update time again for Google’s Pixel phones. While we tend to wait for the latest and greatest features to land on our phones, we can’t forget about the monthly security patches. While they don’t bring flashy changes to the software, they ensure that your smartphone experience is smooth and secure.
If you’re a Pixel owner, and you’re on Android 15, then you should be getting the latest security patch soon. If you don’t see the update just yet, then you might want to try looking for it manually. Your phone will usually notify you automatically when the update arrives, but it never hurts to look.
Go to your settings and scroll down to the System section. There, you should see the Update button. You’ll see a screen saying that your software is up-to-date. Tap on the button at the bottom of the screen, and your phone will do a search for it. If it still doesn’t find the update, then you’ll just want to wait for a bit.
Google releases the Android 15 April update
This update comes with a fair number of changes and updates that will keep your system in check. For starters, this update is compatible with all Pixel phones starting with the Pixel 6. It also includes the Pixel Tablet. The update fixes 31 vulnerabilities.
Along with the security issues, the update fixes a few bugs in the system. It fixes the screen flicker issue, improves the camera stability when zooming, fixes fingerprint scanner issue, fixes the lockscreen weather widget issue, and fixes the issue when switching users.
Overall, this isn’t the biggest update to the system, but it makes using your phone just a bit better. We’re still a while away from the next Pixel Feature Drop, so there are more exciting changes coming.
