Several Pixel owners are complaining that their phones are rebooting out of nowhere during voice calls. These aren’t one-time occurrences, as people would have their phones restart after every couple of minutes on a call. Some users said their phone would reset after about three minutes, and that can be frustrating.

It goes without saying how frustrating it is to be cut off during an important phone call. Also, after users’ phones reboot, they’d find that their call logs were erased. So, there would sometimes be no way to contact the person they were talking to again.

This issue seems to only be affecting Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel 7a users running the latest Android 16 beta. That’s a bummer, but betas tend to come with their fair share of bugs. The build number BP22.250103.008 seems to be associated with the affected devices.

So, there’s a chance that it could be the root cause. Thankfully, Google has acknowledged this issue and is working to fix it. The company labeled it as a high-priority “P2” issue, so you know that it has the company’s full attention. We don’t know when Google will come out with a fix, but we hope that it’s soon.

In a thread, Google made a statement, “We have shared this with our product and engineering team and will update this issue with more information as it becomes available.” This situation is unfortunate, and it’s a reminder that, when you use beta software, you’re using it at your own risk. It’s recommended that you don’t install the beta on your work device, as the bugs could disrupt your day-to-day activities.
