Small Phone, Big Announcement: OnePlus’ Compact Flagship Gets Launch Window

Summary: OnePlus’ upcoming compact flagship now finally has a launch window, unofficially. A tipster says that the phone will launch in May, while some spec details have also been shared. A 6,000mAh battery is expected, the same unit as in the OnePlus 13. Two 50-megapixel cameras will be located on its back, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite will fuel the device. OnePlus is expected to use the ‘OnePlus 13 Mini’ or ‘OnePlus 13T’ name for this phone.
OnePlus’ compact flagship smartphone seems to be on the way, as its launch window has just been tipped. The information comes from Smart Pikachu, a tipster, as the phone could arrive in April.
The launch window is not the only detail that got revealed here, however. Some other information about the phone was shared, so we’ll go over that as well.
First and foremost, we’re still not sure what the phone’s name will be. Both the OnePlus 13 Mini and OnePlus 13T names were mentioned, so… your guess is as good as ours. We’ll have to wait and see.
This smartphone is expected to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, just like its larger siblings. A 6.3-inch display is also tipped, as well as a 50-megapixel dual camera setup. Considering a 6.3-inch display, it will be much smaller than the OnePlus 13 with a 6.82-inch panel.
An optical in-display fingerprint scanner is also mentioned in this rumor. So the phone won’t have the same ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner as its larger sibling. That’s a shame, but the optical fingerprint scanners OnePlus has used in recent years worked perfectly fine.
It’ll allegedly have the same battery capacity as its larger sibling
What’s extremely interesting is that the OnePlus 13T is expected to include a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. That means it will have the same battery capacity as its larger sibling despite the size decrease.
The OnePlus 13 offers outstanding battery life, so we can only imagine what will happen with this phone, presuming that the information is accurate. This is far from a confirmation, though.
We do hope that the phone will also offer blazing fast wired and wireless charging like its larger counterpart. Android 15 will be included, along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS 15 skin on top of it, if the phone reaches global markets. In China, it will include ColorOS instead.
