Satechi has been quite busy during the ongoing CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The brand launched a stand for the Mac Mini M4, as well as a series of wireless chargers and travel power banks. Now, Satechi has announced the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit as its first full-size mechanical keyboard.
Satechi’s SM3 Slim launched as a full-sized mechanical backlit keyboard
Satechi designed the SM3 Slim with versatility in mind, making it ideal for both Windows and Mac device users. You can also use it on Chrome OS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android products. The keyboard design boasts an aluminum enclosure for durability and a premium “look & feel.” This model is similar to the SM1 Slim, but opting for a full-size form factor—100%—with a 108-key layout instead of 75%.
The company claims that the keyboard is suited to both professionals and gamers. It may be the ideal choice for those looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard without sacrificing the extra numerical keys. The low-profile brown switches have a short travel distance, helping to mitigate fatigue after hours and hours of typing. Their low noise levels make it perfect for shared spaces or the office.
For added comfort, the keyboard’s adjustable feet allow you to adjust its angle to your convenience. It also improves stability while typing even on uneven surfaces. The company integrated stabilizers beneath the delete key, the return key, the space bar, and the left shift key for an optimal user experience. There’s an adjustable white backlight with up to 14 presets, three brightness levels, and four LED speeds.
Satechi’s SM3 Slim Mechanical Keyboard features up to four ways of connectivity. There are dual Bluetooth 5.0 channels, a 2.4 GHz USB receiver, and a USB-C wired connection—it also works to charge the 2,500 mAh battery. This allows you to easily switch between different devices if you need to.
The keyboard integrates a few OS-specific keys (O and P) for added versatility. These enable a quick transition between different platforms. For example, for Windows devices, the SM3 integrates “Win, Win, alt, alt” keys that can replace the Mac® “CMD” and “Opt” ones.
