Samsung’s Now Brief Feature May Soon Be Able To Track Your Water Intake

Samsung introduced the Now Brief AI feature with Android 15-based One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 series in January. It provides tailored information throughout your day, including weather, travel details, health metrics, and more. Samsung is now reportedly planning to add more functionalities to the Now Brief feature, and one of them could help you monitor your daily water intake.

Furthermore, Samsung is also working on new enhancements, which will let users create custom cards for Now Brief. All these new functionalities could drop alongside the stable One UI 8 update later this year.

Samsung’s Now Brief feature could soon make sure you’re drinking enough water

Samsung could soon be adding a brand-new Now Brief card that will help you monitor your daily water intake. Folks over at SammyGuru went through the code of the Samsung Health app. In the code, the publication discovered a “Water Now Brief” feature. Unfortunately, the source wasn’t able to activate this functionality. The hidden setting hints towards a future hydration tracking functionality in the Samsung Health app, possibly with One UI 8.

The Samsung Health app’s new “Water Now Brief” functionality seems to be under development, and the company could roll it out soon. The new feature could make Samsung Health a go-to application for health-conscious users. Based on the function’s design, it could be a simple card showing glasses of water you’ve consumed in your day. It could sync with the health app’s hydration logs, delivering a visual indicator for daily water intake goals.

Custom cards are also coming to the Now Brief feature

The same source has found a hidden menu inside the latest version of Modes and Routines on One UI 8. It allows users to build custom cards for Now Brief. In these custom cards, users will be able to specify days and times when the card should appear. Furthermore, they can assign specific actions that trigger when they tap a button within the card, apart from adding icons, titles, and descriptions for the card.

Samsung’s custom Now Brief cards could provide a high level of customization, which is a functionality many users have wanted since the launch of the new features. For example, you could launch your music app or check your calendar every day at a predefined time.
