The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+ are available starting today on Samsung’s website, as well as through national retailers and carriers, priced at $500 and $650, respectively.
The new tablets are powered by the Samsung Exynos 1580 chipset, offering smooth performance and improved battery life for daily tasks and gaming.
They come with AI features, pre-installed productivity and creativity apps, and offer premium display options, all available in three colors and multiple storage variants.
Android tablets, including those from Samsung, have long been underrated and overlooked. Meanwhile, all the attention they deserve has been overshadowed by none other than Samsung’s biggest competitor, Apple. Giving credit where credit is due, iPads are excellent. In fact, I’ve been using an iPad Air and an Apple Pencil for nearly three years for all my college note-taking, purely because of how well the ecosystem integrates with my workflow and the overall experience.
There’s a major caveat, though — iPads are incredibly expensive. While most students gravitate toward a tablet for its portability rather than a traditional laptop, they are often on a tight budget. Although there are many cheap Android tablets out there, Samsung’s prices sometimes match or even exceed the cost of iPads. Take the Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra, for example, which start at $1,000 and $1,200, respectively.
The iPad’s limitations are making Android tablets more compelling
Let’s settle this for once: the iPad isn’t the default tablet anymore
Here’s where Galaxy’s newest offerings, announced on April 2nd, come in — the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+. Starting at $500 and $650, respectively, they pack most of the flagship tablet’s best features for a fraction of the price. It’s been just over a week since Samsung announced these devices, and now they’re finally available for order starting today on Samsung’s website and national retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+ pack a lot of value for the price
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+ are both powered by the Samsung Exynos 1580 chipset, which, according to AP’s Stephen Radochia, maintains the performance and battery life improvements introduced by the Exynos 1480 while delivering smooth overall performance. Ultimately, the powerful processor ensures that these tablets are capable of handling all your day-to-day tasks, whether it’s taking notes all day or winding down with a fun gaming session.
The new FE tablets come with the same IP68 water and dust resistance as the rest of the Galaxy Tab S10 series, meaning you no longer have to worry about visiting the nearest repair store just because you spilled water on your tablet while cramming for an exam. When purchasing a tablet, the display size is often the deciding factor (aside from price).
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ offers the largest screen in the FE series with a 13.1-inch display, while the Galaxy Tab S10 has a 10.9-inch display. Both the S10 FE and FE+ feature a 90Hz refresh rate.
Just because you’re paying less for FE devices than the S10+ and S10 Ultra doesn’t mean you should miss out on premium features. Both Fan Edition models come equipped with AI features we’ve seen on other Android devices, such as:
Circle to Search with Google
Math Solver
Handwriting Assist
Object Eraser
Best Face
Auto Trim
That’s not all. Top productivity and creativity apps like Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Clip Studio Paint, Noteshelf 3, Picsart, and more come pre-installed, so you can jump into your work as soon as you set up your tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ are available in three colors: Gray, Silver, and Blue. They come in 128 GB and 256 GB variants. As mentioned above, the S10 FE’s base model starts at $500, and the S10 FE+ starts at $650, with a trade-in value of up to $300 available.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE
Samsung’s latest midrange tablet isn’t just a spec bump. With a brighter display, new AI tools, and IP68 water and dust resistance, the Tab S10 FE could be one of the best value tablets around at just $500.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ pairs a larger, brighter display with a faster processor, more AI skills, and IP68 water and dust resistance. $650 isn’t cheap, but it’s a great alternative to Samsung’s more expensive flagships.
