Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Counts Your Battery Charge Cycles

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series has a nifty new feature where the device will count your charge cycles. Officially announced on January 22, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones. The company revealed the phones during Galaxy Unpacked, touting a new era of AI with everything from Gemini support to several new camera features.

The phones can also now use Galaxy AI in a variety of different ways. Including helping you find recipes for ingredients in your fridge. One thing that hasn’t been talked about yet, until now, is the ability for the phone to tell you how many times it’s been charged up. This might seem like a small thing. After all, why should users care about how many times they’ve charged their phone over its lifetime?

The reason is battery health. Samsung and other manufacturers have been implementing ways to keep an eye on the battery health of phones for a few years. And there are ways, like Google’s charge limiter on Pixels, to help extend that battery health so it lasts longer. That being said, past Samsung phones haven’t really made it simple to get to battery health information. That changes with the Galaxy S25.

Galaxy S25 charge cycles can be seen directly in the settings

Battery health stats and their visibility aren’t exactly new. But at least for Samsung devices, it’s never been super convenient to find them. With the Galaxy S25, Samsung is making it possible to see a range of different battery health stats right in the settings menu.

Aside from the charge cycles, the Galaxy S25 will also list details like the battery level. Additionally, it shows you the battery health with an actual percentage. It will even show the first used date. With this information, users will know more about the health of their batteries. This is going to be particularly useful for people who keep their phones longer. And with the Galaxy S25 getting seven years of Android updates, there’s a good chance many people will keep these phones for several years.
