Samsung’s Ballie home robot will use Gemini’s power to do a bunch of tasks
In a press release published today, Samsung notes that with the help of Gemini, the Ballie robot can chat naturally with you. Additionally, it will be able to handle daily tasks, like greeting visitors, adding lights, managing schedules, and much more.
Ballie will use Gemini’s multimodal capabilities alongside Samsung’s in-house language models to process and understand different types of output. It includes audio and voice, visual data from its camera, and sensor data from its surroundings. This will allow Ballie to adapt its behaviors and responses in real time.
It’s worth noting that the little rolling robot can help you with different things. For example, if you are unsure what to wear in the morning, you can seek advice from the Gemini-powered Samsung Ballie robot. You can ask, “Hey Ballie, how do I look?” and it will respond with styling suggestions. Well, it’s not the only thing that Ballie can help you with.

The rolling robot is launching this summer
Thanks to Gemini’s reasoning capabilities, the Samsung Ballie will also be able to help you with health and wellness. If you’re feeling exhausted at any time of the day, you can tell Ballie about it. It will then use Google Search to provide recommendations on boosting energy.
To catch you up, Samsung showcased its first AI assistant home robot, Ballie, early last year. The company recently gave a timeframe for its launch. The AI-powered rolling home robot will launch this summer in the US and South Korea. Given all the features and capabilities, we expect the price of the little robot will be on the higher side.
