The One UI 8 update will offer tons of new features and improvements, which we’ll get to know about in subsequent beta updates. Another major announcement that recently came from the company is a new way to register your Galaxy phone for customer support. Good news: it’s available for any Galaxy device with NFC support and Android 10.
How Samsung plans to make customer support faster

As a part of the One UI 8 beta announcement, Samsung has announced QR- and NFC-enabled support at its repair centers for ‘faster and more convenient’ customer support. So, instead of going through the pain of filling out forms to register your device for customer support, all you have to do is use QR codes or NFC for a service request (via Android Authority).
The QR- and NFC-enabled support is accessible via your Samsung Account, but this isn’t available in all parts of the world. In addition to support for NFC and Android 10 or above, as the Samsung Account app isn’t available on anything older than that, another requirement is that you should be based in one of the countries where this is available. As things stand right now, QR- and NFC-enabled support is available in 36 countries, which include the US. Below is the list of supported countries:
U.S. and Mexico | Argentina |
Chile | Brazil |
Colombia | Vietnam |
Czech Republic | Uzbekistan |
France | Ukraine |
Greece | Türkiye |
Taiwan | Thailand |
Spain | South Africa |
Poland | Singapore |
India | Portugal |
Indonesia | Philippines |
Panama | Poland |
Guatemala | Peru |
Austria | Hungary |
Ecuador | Kenya |
Korea | Malaysia |
Nigeria | New Zealand |
Netherlands | Pakistan |
Samsung has plans to expand this feature to more countries with future updates. Even if this is available in your country, it’s worth noting that the QR- and NFC-enabled support is available only in a limited number of repair shops. So, don’t be surprised if you don’t see it in the Samsung repair shop near you, though Samsung promises to improve availability in the future.
In the meantime, if you’re planning to repair your Samsung Galaxy phone, make sure to follow the essential steps before handing your phone to the technician.
