Plus, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could also bring downgrades to the functionality of the accessory. That said, a new leak claims that Samsung will launch a new S Pen this year for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold SE where a key change was the complete removal of S Pen support. Later leaks claimed that the 2025 Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be based on the said device. This made many fear a possible incompatibility with the accessory. The reports about a potentially downgraded S Pen for the Fold lineup gave more strength to such speculations. However, it seems that Samsung will continue to offer compatibility with its stylus on these devices.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be compatible with a new S Pen

According to tipster PandaFlash 𝕏, Samsung will launch a new S Pen this year. The post on X/Twitter claims that the new stylus will be specifically designed for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. That is, it might not even be compatible with older Z Fold models. The new S Pen is said to have a new tip for a better writing experience. The post doesn’t mention anything about potential functionality downgrades. However, considering it’s only compatible with the Z Fold 7, the previous rumors point to being true. Anyway, there are no details yet on what features might be lost along the way.
