Samsung Reportedly Reviving ‘base’ Galaxy Tab S11 Alongside Big Battery Upgrades

According to a new report, next year’s Galaxy Tab S11 series is going to be bringing some battery upgrades, at least for the largest model, while also reviving a “base” model.

GalaxyClub reports that the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra’s battery will go up by about 500 mAh, the first upgrade in a few generations. The new battery will have a rated capacity of 11,374 mAh, likely to be advertised around 11,700 mAh or slightly higher. The existing Tab S10 Ultra (and some of its predecessors) have a rated capacity of 10,880 mAh, which is advertised as 11,200 mAh.

Again, this is the first battery upgrade since the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which was the first of Samsung’s super-sized tablets.

The report also claims that Samsung is planning to have just two Galaxy Tab S11 devices again, but this time with a “base” model alongside the super-sized Ultra. This smaller device would have the same battery size as the Galaxy Tab S9 did at a rated capacity of 8,160 mAh (advertised as 8,400 mAh).

It’s unclear how that will affect the “Fan Edition” lineup, as Samsung this year released four tablets in total, with the Tab S10 FE offering screen sizes, including a smaller one, that weren’t covered by the Galaxy Tab S10+ or Tab S10 Ultra.

A release date is also unknown, but the Tab S10 series launched in September.
