Samsung Might Be Making Another Galaxy Watch Ultra After All

Recent leaks have cropped up, indicating that Samsung wants to release more Galaxy Watch 8 models than we thought. A new variant of the Galaxy Watch Ultra is included, and we have questions.

The newest leaks and renders surrounding the Galaxy Watch 8 series have been quite a roller coaster. Coming off of renders for the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic with mixed reception, renders of the Galaxy Watch 8 base model pose it as the awkward younger sibling it may yet prove to be.

Within that leak, there sits another Galaxy Watch model that took us by surprise (via Android Headlines). According to the report, Samsung is reportedly going to release a “Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra,” which could just be another variant of the current Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Samsung didn’t attach a “7” to the Watch Ultra when it was released alongside the Watch 7, so it, in essence, doesn’t belong to any one generation. With that, this blue and silver “Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra” might just be another version of the Galaxy Watch Ultra with a blue band.

The leak indicates that the new variant has the same processor and comes in at the same size. Curiously, it’s said to come in at $699, an entire $50 more than the original Watch Ultra. With that detail, the theory that this is an upgraded Watch 8 Ultra might hold water.

Unfortunately, it’s still too early to tell. It very likely isn’t another version of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic as the bezel does not seem to lend itself to rotating, and it isn’t nearly as basic as the base model.

In any case, it should be interesting to see how Samsung positions the new Watch Ultra model in the lineup of watches.
