Samsung Just Pissed Off Galaxy Z Fold 6/Flip 6 Users With This Update

The wait for One UI 7 keeps throwing up unexpected surprises along the way, often for the worse. Recently, Samsung finally confirmed a timeframe for the start of the stable rollout. The announcement also mentioned that today (March 6) the beta program for its foldable phones from last year would open. However, instead of One UI 7 beta, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are receiving the March 2025 security update.
It seems that the confusion around One UI 7 will not stop even when there was already official information available. The usual monthly security preview for Galaxy devices is reaching the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. This casts doubt on whether Samsung will begin the rollout of the One UI 7 beta on these devices as promised.
Samsung’s March 2025 security update reaching Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6
As with the last patches, the latest March 2025 security update focuses entirely on fixing bugs and resolving vulnerabilities. The new features and customization options you’ve been eagerly awaiting are coming with One UI 7. According to reports, the monthly update for the Z Fold 6 has the build number F956NKSS2AYBD. On the other hand, the OTA for the Z Flip 6 uses the build number F741NKSS2AYBD. In both cases, the file size is around 440 MB.
The updates are first reaching units in South Korea. However, it will likely expand to more regions and countries in the coming days. Similar to the February patch, the new OTA resolves more than 40 potentially exploitable vulnerabilities. Most of them come from Google for the Android Core. Meanwhile, Samsung includes fixes for seven security holes in Galaxy products. Some of these vulnerabilities allowed malicious actors to take control of some settings on your device.
The update is probably not available for your phone yet. Once it is, you will get a notification to download and install it. You can always try a manual check to try and speed things up from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
