Trading in your old smartphone for a new one is a tradition that’s been around for ages. Samsung has been utilizing that tactic with great success. The company typically offers enhanced trade-ins for its latest smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is no exception, but now the company will let you trade in a Pixel 9 for it.
Samsung has utilized trade-in programs to incentivize customers to upgrade to their latest devices. This is to help offset the handset’s price, which Samsung knows won’t come cheap. With the Galaxy S25 series launch, the company has improved its trade-in offerings by giving customers substantial credit for their devices.
Now Samsung has expanded its Galaxy S25 trade-in program to include Google’s Pixel 9 series. Prior to this, the latest Pixel smartphone Samsung accepted was the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. This update now accepts both the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. Unfortunately, owners of the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold aren’t included. We’re not sure why, but maybe Samsung will add those phones later.
If you’re willing to trade in your Pixel 9 for the Galaxy S25, you will get varying amounts of credit for it. For the base Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, you can get up to $300, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get you up to $550.
As for the Pixel 9 Pro, its value starts at $350 for the Galaxy S25, $400 for the Galaxy S25+, and $650 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, take note that you might not get these values. This is because these are max values that are based on the condition of your phone. Phones with dents, scratches, or cracked displays will obviously be valued less than one kept in mint condition.
Other trade-in offers
In addition to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, Samsung accepts trade-ins for other phones. This includes Samsung phones like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, and its Galaxy Z Fold and Flip foldable phones. The company is also more than happy to accept Apple devices. This includes the latest iPhone 16 series going back to the iPhone 11.
It goes without saying that the older and more damaged/used your phone is, the less you will get for it. In some cases, you are better off selling it on platforms like eBay where you could fetch a higher price. However, the convenience and trust that Samsung offers might be worth it.
