Samsung Has A New Galaxy Watch Update Rolling Out To These Smartwatches
`

An April 2025 update is rolling out more widely to Samsung’s Wear OS-based Galaxy Watch models, with the update now available through four different generations of hardware.

First debuting earlier this month for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, Samsung is now rolling out its April 2025 update for several more Galaxy Watch devices. The entire Wear OS catalog is being updated, dating back to 2021’s Galaxy Watch 4 series as spotted by SammyGuru, SamMobile, and others.

While many of these updates are starting in Korea, we’ve seen changelogs go live for the US variants of Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, with others most likely set to expand in the coming days and weeks.

Galaxy Watch models eligible for this April 2025 update include:

  • Galaxy Watch 7
  • Galaxy Watch Ultra
  • Galaxy Watch 6
  • Galaxy Watch 6 Classic
  • Galaxy Watch 5
  • Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
  • Galaxy Watch 4
  • Galaxy Watch 4 Classic

The update weighs in at varying sizes for each watch, generally around 400-500MB in total. Users can check the Galaxy Wearable app for updates.

While the update itself is sizable, the changelog is anything but. Samsung only includes the following on its changelog (edited for formatting):

Stability and reliability

  • The stability has been improved.

Security

  • The device is protected with improved security.

The update also comes with an outdated security patch for the underlying Wear OS platform, with the March 2025 security patch.
