Summary

  • Samsung has expanded the One UI 7 rollout to Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and S23 FE.
  • The stable update is currently live in South Korea and contains the April 2025 security patch.
  • These phones could miss out on some of the bigger One UI 7 changes.

Samsung is making up for the long delay in rolling out the stable One UI 7 update by expanding the rollout to more of its devices. Over the last couple of weeks, it released a revised One UI 7 build for the Galaxy S24, followed by the Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and Galaxy S23. The new firmware is already available in most major markets worldwide, including the US. Continuing that trend, Samsung has now released the first public One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and the S23 FE.

As in the past, the final One UI 7 update for these devices is currently available for download only in South Korea. The HYD9 firmware for Samsung’s 2024 foldable weighs over 4GB and contains the April 2025 security patch.

Unlike the Galaxy S23 and S24 series, the Z Fold 4 and its Flip sibling will likely miss out on some of the bigger changes in One UI 7 due to their dated internals. Until Samsung releases the official One UI 7 notes for these models, though, we will have to wait for user reports to find out what’s included and what’s missing. So far, the company has only outlined the One UI 7 camera features that will be coming to older devices.

Alongside its 2022 foldable, Samsung has also seeded the public One UI 7 build for the Galaxy S23 FE. The CYDA firmware weighs around 5GB and is currently live in South Korea. The availability of the Android 15 firmware for these devices should expand to other markets later this week or early next week.

One UI 7’s public rollout to expand to more devices in May

According to Samsung’s own timeline, users should not expect the stable One UI 7 update for these devices to arrive before May. However, it seems the company is rolling out the final firmware ahead of schedule to avoid another last-minute hiccup.

The stable One UI 7 build for the Galaxy S22, which packs similar internals as the Z Fold 4 and launched earlier in 2022, should also roll out in Korea in the next few days. A wider global release will likely follow soon after.
