Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 May Have A Full-Size Outer Display Claims ‘updated’ Leak

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 might deliver some meaningful changes after all, as leaks now claim that the device will have a full-size outer display that wraps around the cameras.

Samsung’s first Galaxy Z Flip devices had very small and functionally limited displays on the outside while competing devices were adding much later displays to the outside. That eventually led to Samsung launching the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a much larger outer display measuring 3.4-inches. That display, however, was still limited in functionality, and didn’t take up the full size of the device with a folder-like shape that left room for the main cameras.

It was thought that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 would follow suit with that same design (which was also used on Flip 6) following a recent CAD-based leak. However, that was apparently incorrect.

Updated renders added to that Android Headlines post now reveal a new design with a full-size cover display on the outside of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Unlike the original report, which claimed a slightly larger 3.6-inch display, the device is now said to have a display closer to a 4-inch size.

The design is virtually identical to the Motorola Razr+ (2024), which was the first flip-foldable to adopt this full-size style when it launched last year and also has a 4-inch display. Previous Razr models also had bigger displays than Samsung’s, but it was last year’s “flagship” that really pushed things forward.

This is said to be the “final” design.

Why the difference? In a post on Twitter/X, OnLeaks says that data was “misinterpreted,” leading to the incorrect design being shared – the same thing happened with Pixel 9a last year, and Galaxy S25 Edge leaks were also different compared to Samsung’s actual product, apparently due to the company switching gears to a different prototype.

Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy Z Flip 7 later this year.
