Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Gets June 2025 Security Update

Recently, Samsung disclosed its latest security patch for Galaxy devices. Now, the company is beginning the rollout of the June 2025 update to the Galaxy S25 series. These types of updates aren’t as exciting as the arrival of a big OS firmware (like One UI 8). However, keeping your device updated with the latest security patches is one of the most important things you can do to safeguard your personal information and ensure your phone runs smoothly.
Samsung’s June 2025 security update reaches Galaxy S25 series, first in Korea
The update, specifically for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, has begun its rollout. As usual, the update is being seen first in Samsung’s home market: Korea. You’ll recognize the new firmware by its build number, which ends with the characters AYE5. While it’s currently limited to Korea, Samsung is typically very quick to expand these essential updates globally. So, you can expect to see it arrive in your region very soon—possibly even before the end of the week.
This update (spotted by tipster Tarun Vats) also includes a bootloader version update. This is often a sign of a future big software enhancement. It looks like behind-the-scenes preparations for the arrival of One UI 8.
So, what’s inside this digital shield? The June 2025 security patch is designed to tackle a range of potential weaknesses. It addresses 19 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities, patching up any potential gaps within Samsung’s own software. More broadly, it also fixes numerous high-risk flaws within the underlying Android operating system. These fixes prevent malicious actors from accessing sensitive information, causing memory corruption, or even gaining unauthorized access to your data, including details in Samsung Cloud for Galaxy Watch users.
If you own a Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra, keep an eye on your notifications for this June 2025 update. Head over to your phone’s Settings > Software update > Download and install to see if it’s available for your device. It’s probably not available for you yet, but it’s a matter of waiting a few days.
