Samsung Galaxy A36 And A26 Are Now Available With Six Years Of Android Updates From $299

Following their unveiling earlier this month, Samsung has just opened sales of the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26 in the US starting at $299.

Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A smartphones don’t always get a ton of attention, but they’re among the most popular smartphones in the world year after year. Galaxy A15 was the fourth most-shipped smartphone in 2024 globally.

As of today, Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26 are the latest additions to that series, and they’re available for purchase.

Both the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26 share 6.7-inch 120Hz displays and a 5,000 mAh battery, differing when it comes to the chipset, memory, and cameras.

Galaxy A26 has a 50MP main rear camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera. There’s also a 13MP front-facing camera. The chipset is an Exynos 1380 (based on the clock speeds) paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with a microSD card slot. Galaxy A26 is available only in “Black.”

Meanwhile, Galaxy A36 offers a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP telephoto, and 12MP front-facing camera. This device appears to be powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Samsung hasn’t detailed the exact chipset, but the clock speeds line up, and this is the chip used in other regions. That’s paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, though there’s no microSD slot on this device. Colors for the Galaxy A36 include “Awesome Black” and “Awesome Lavender.”

Both devices ship with Android 15 and One UI 7, and also come with six years of Android OS upgrades. For a price to longevity ratio, that puts these devices up towards the top of the list, undercutting Pixel, iPhone, and effectively everything else on the market as software updates will be continuing through the early 2030s.

Galaxy A26 starts at $299 while Galaxy A36 starts at $399. Trade-in offers can cut up to $150 off of the price, and Samsung will also let you bundle in accessories such as Galaxy Buds FE and Galaxy Watch FE for around 50% off.
