There’s been a lot of news over the past week, and companies have started to react to the changing landscape with new tariffs in place by either pulling products, delaying launches, or just raising prices. There’s always a chance that things could change overnight, but for now, Remarkable has announced that it will be raising prices on its device starting in May.

Price increases are coming

The news comes from Good e-Reader, reporting that an email was sent out from the brand, giving those interested a heads-up about the new pricing set to go into effect next month. With that said, the brand hasn’t stated by how much it will be increasing prices.

Currently, Remarkable has two devices in its lineup, the Paper Pro and Remarkable 2. The former, which is the top-end model, has a price of $579, while the latter comes in at $399. These prices are already on the higher side when it comes to e-readers, so it will be interesting to see what the company comes up with.

If there are substantial price increases, this could be a huge blow, considering that Remarkable isn’t that large of a company. And since the brand doesn’t offer a cheaper option, there really isn’t any way that it could shift its sales to a more affordable product. This is quite different from other competitors, which offer a deeper lineup that even caters to those just getting into e-readers.

Of course, that means if you’ve been thinking about buying a Remarkable e-reader, now’s going to be a good time to probably pick one up. Or you can always wait it out to see what happens. As stated before, things are changing daily, so there’s a chance that Remarkable won’t need to make any price increases if price increases can be avoided.
