REDMAGIC’s Thinnest Gaming Phone Arrives Without Sacrificing Power

Contents
Summary: REDMAGIC has announced a new gaming phone called the REDMAGIC 10 Air, a thin and light version of its most powerful gaming phone to date. While it comes with a thinner design, it still prioritizes high performance for mobile gaming.
REDMAGIC has announced its latest device, and it’s called the REDMAGIC 10 Air. Despite being hailed as a new phone, it’s actually rather close to the previously announced REDMAGIC 10 Pro, although it does come with some slightly different specs. The main difference here is the ultra-thin design. It’s more than one millimeter thinner than the REDMAGIC 10 Pro.
While that doesn’t sound like a whole lot, going from 8.9mm to 7.85mm is no small task. There’s more to take into account than just shaving off some of the phone’s thickness, too. REDMAGIC’s engineers had to figure out how to squeeze all of that gaming performance into a slimmer shell while also maintaining the superior cooling system.
That being said, some of these specs have been changed to help this process along. For instance, the REDMAGIC 10 Air comes with a smaller 6,000mAh capacity battery. It also uses the “9-layer ICE cooling system” instead of the ICE-X cooling system in the REDMAGIC 10 Pro. So, there are some compromises. Performance is not one of those compromises, however.
The newly announced REDMAGIC 10 Air is only available in China for now
REDMAGIC usually releases most of its devices and products globally; however, not all at the same time. The same is true here, as REDMAGIC confirms the REDMAGIC 10 Air will be released in China only for the time being. With that being the case, there will be no option at the moment for users in the US to get this phone and have it work with their carrier. It’s worth noting that REDMAGIC does plan to launch this phone globally, but it isn’t planning to announce any details about that until April 23.
For users in China, the phone will be released today, and it retails for a starting price of 3,499RMB. That price will be for the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage variant of the phone. REEDMAGIC is also launching a variant that comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. As for colors, both variants will be available in Twilight Black and Hailstone White. There will also be a Flare Orange color available in the 16GB RAM version only, but REDMAGIC says this color isn’t launching right away. This is similar to how REDMAGIC launched a special Golden Saga Edition of the REDMAGIC 10 Pro months after the original model.
Super chill and super powerful
Being really thin doesn’t mean the REDMAGIC 10 Air has to sacrifice performance. To that end, REDMAGIC filled this device with loads of powerful components. For starters, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This is last year’s chipset, but it’s still extremely powerful. So you should have no trouble whatsoever running the most demanding games Android has to offer, including the likes of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Diablo Immortal, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and more.
As for the cooling system, REDMAGIC had to make sure it was ice cold so the phone was able to sustain optimal performance. To ensure this, the REDMAGIC 10 Air uses Solid State Liquid Metal and a 3D vapor chamber to keep temperatures down. It also features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the display has a 2,000Hz instant touch sampling rate and a 960Hz constant touch sampling rate. The Should Triggers are 560Hz as well. In other words, the Redmagic 10 Air is super chill and super powerful.
