If there’s one thing we love about POCO’s phones, it’s that they basically bring a flagship experience despite being priced as mid-rangers. If you’re in the market for a new phone that is relatively easy on the wallet, you might want to check out the company’s latest phones, the POCO X7, the X7 Pro, and the X7 Pro Iron Man Edition.

In terms of specs, both phones share some similarities. For starters, both the X7 and X7 Pro have similar display sizes and specs. Both handsets have displays that measure 6.67 inches and utilizes a CrystalRes AMOLED panel. It has a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The difference lies in its brightness. The base X7 goes up to 3,000 nits, while the Pro version tops out at 3,200 nits.

Both phones feature MediaTek chipsets under the hood. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset powers the X7, while the Pro version uses the Dimensity 8400-Ultra. The batteries of both phones are also different.

If battery life is a concern, the Pro is a better choice. It has a 6,000mAh battery and supports 90W HyperCharge, which POCO claims will allow it to go from 0 to 100% in just 42 minutes. The X7 has a smaller 5,110mAh battery and uses 45W charging.

On the camera front, we’re a little confused. Despite the “Pro” name, the handset only features a dual camera setup that consists of a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide angle.

The regular X7, on the other hand, has a triple camera setup with a 50MP main, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. The 2MP macro is negligible, but still.

The Pro also features LiquidCool Technology 4.0 that helps keep the phone cool under more intense loads, such as gaming.

Iron Man Edition

Lastly, there is the POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition. This phone is basically the POCO X7 Pro, with the main difference being the design.

According to POCO, the Iron Man Edition is inspired by (obviously) Iron Man. The handset is finished in Iron Man’s signature red and gold. It also showcases a unique 3D relief design alongside Iron Man’s helmet and the Arc Reactor that made it happen.

The Iron Man theme doesn’t stop there. There are custom UI elements that POCO says will immerse users in a Marvel-inspired experience. It’s a different colorway compared to the regular X7 Pro, so unless you’re a huge Marvel/Iron Man fan, don’t let the Arc Reactor fool you; it won’t be any different performance-wise.

Software features

POCO’s new phones run on HyperOS 2, which is based on Android 15. They also feature WildBoost Optimization 3.0 which POCO claims will help with gaming. It offers more stable frame rates, connectivity, and “immersive” sound effects.

There are also AI features for functions like photography. It can also be used for photo editing, like with the AI Erase Pro function that lets users quickly remove unwanted objects in their images.

There’s also support for Google’s Gemini which comes preinstalled on the phones.

Pricing and availability

The POCO X7 is priced starting at $229 for the 8GB/256GB model, while the Pro version is priced starting at $279. The POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition will cost more at $399 and it is only available in one configuration which comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage.
