PlayStation Plus March Free Games Includes Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Every month PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers get a few games for free, and Sony has officially announced the free games for March 2025, one of which is Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This is a big deal and kind of surprising. For one, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a AAA game. You don’t see AAA games in PlayStation Plus for the free monthly games that often. At least, not when they’re as new as this one.

Therein lies the other surprising element. This game isn’t that old. It’s a huge title and BioWare’s biggest release in several years. Dragon Age is one of the only franchises BioWare works on these days. With the last title in the franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition, having released early on the in the PS4’s lifecycle. With Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the official launch date was October 31, 2024, and it was released on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. And that means this game is about four months old. It’s not common for a game this big to be dropped on PlayStation Plus free of charge.

That could spell bad news for Dragon Age as a franchise. It also may suggest that The Veilguard didn’t sell too well. If it had, it probably wouldn’t be coming to Sony’s subscription service for free this early on. That being said, this doesn’t mean the game isn’t good or worth playing. Especially now that it’s one of the free games next month. If you’ve got the time, it’s worth checking out.

While The Veilguard is certainly the biggest title this coming month, there are two others to think about picking up. These include Sonic Colors: Ultimate and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. The nice thing about the Cowabunga Collection is that it includes several games. There are 13 classic Konami TMNT games in this pack. So, if you think about it, you’re really getting a lot more than 3 games for March. You’re technically getting 15. And that’s a good deal any way you slice it.

You only have a few more days to grab the current games

With March 4 fast approaching, you only have a few more days to grab the current PlayStation Plus games. The games for February are Payday 3, High On Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. High On Life is worth picking up if you like games that include a lot of comedic dialogue. But if you’re not sure which games you’ll like best, I suggest just claiming all three and trying them out. It doesn’t hurt to have some extras that might appeal to other people in the home as well.
