Pixel 7 Pro Has A New Lease On Life, Making Deep Discounts A Lot More Appealing

Thanks to its new lease on life, the Pixel 7 Pro is once again a device worth considering, and an ongoing offer to kick off 2025 is worth a look.

The Pixel 7 Pro launched in 2022 as Google’s second phone in the Tensor era, and solved a lot of the biggest complaints from the Pixel 6 generation. The design was refined, Tensor G2 was a noticeable step up in efficiency and signal performance, and battery life was also better. While Google has improved things further with the launch of the Pixel 8 and especially the Pixel 9 generation, those looking at a last-gen device to save some money have had some good options when looking at the Pixel 7 series.

However, buying a two-generation old Android phone has always come with its downsides, particularly by way of software support.

That was true of the Pixel 7 series, as Google’s 2022 release was only supposed to have one major Android update left going into 2025, making it a tough sell for many. But, late last year, Google confirmed plans to extend the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 7, and 7 Pro with two more years of Android OS updates.

This means that buying a Pixel 7 Pro or Pixel 7 in 2025 is actually a good deal at the right price, because the device won’t be irrelevant when it comes to new features for a while to come.

Right now, one of those solid deals can be found at Amazon’s Woot, where the Pixel 7 Pro can be purchased brand new for $399 in its 512GB variant. That means you get a ton of storage and a brand new smartphone for a fraction of its original cost. The deal includes the black, white, and “Hazel” colors of Pixel 7 Pro.

The appeal of Woot’s offer is certainly the storage, as there are technically better deals to be had elsewhere. For example, one “renewed” Pixel 8 Pro offer brings the cost down to just $349, a steal by any measurement, but Woot’s offer has four times the storage available. A comparable Pixel 8 Pro is over $500. And that’s also for refurbished devices, where Woot’s offer is on a brand new Pixel 7 Pro. Currently, a Pixel 8 Pro is $599 for the 128GB model.
