Openvibe 1.9 Update Now Saves Your Timeline Position, Plus More

Openvibe 1.9 is now rolling out to Android and iOS devices. It includes one of the most requested features — timeline position saving — plus a number of other quality-of-life improvements.

Openvibe aggregates your Bluesky, Mastodon, Nostr, and Threads accounts into one convenient stream for those unaware. It allows you to post across all of these networks simultaneously while getting a live feed of the content on all but Meta’s Threads. It’s a must-have for anyone who wants to manage all of their social handles in one place.

While it’s a no doubt a great app, it still isn’t perfect. The addition of in-app notifications in a previous update was the biggest post-release update, but Openvibe 1.9 has added the long-awaited timeline save function.

Before this update rolling out, when launching the app, you would be brought right to the top of your feed, even if you had already seen or read content on your timeline. Automatic refreshes won’t break your flow, and one of the most interesting aspects of this update is that Openvibe 1.9 actually provides timeline position saving despite Bluesky’s lack of this functionality. You can simply start scrolling the new content with an update “Home” feed icon showing that more content has been added.

Your timeline now saves your position, so you can seamlessly continue where you left off! We’ve also added an animated new post indicator for smoother navigation. Plus, missing URLs in Bluesky bios are now fixed, our Bluesky library got a rewrite, and we’ve refined the UX with haptics. The looping audio bug in videos is resolved, timeline settings stay put when switching profiles.

Enhanced timeline management isn’t the only new addition in the Openvibe 1.9 update. The official Openvibe Bluesky accounts confirmed that improved in-app haptics when accessing menus and other app areas. There are some fixes for bugs too to round out this all-important update.
