The OnePlus Watch 3 launched last week with some useful health monitoring features and great battery life. However, the OnePlus party was quickly spoiled after reports of a typo in the Watch 3’s backplate engraving went viral. What should have been “Made in China” was misspelled as “Meda in China.” No wonder; it was a bummer. Today, in a press release sent to us, OnePlus has also announced to push the open-sales date of the OnePlus Watch 3 to April.
The “Meda” mistake forces OnePlus to push the open-sales date of the Watch 3 to April
Last Friday, OnePlus USA took to its X account to acknowledge its “Meda” mistake. In the post, the company noted, “A typo slipped through and made its way onto your shiny new OnePlus Watch 3. Don’t worry, it was totally unintentional.”
OnePlus says that if you’ve bought the Watch 3 with the a typo in engraving, you can keep the same thinking it of as a super limited edition. However, the company will also accept returns without asking any questions. OnePlus further noted that it’ll be refreshing the stock by making corrections.
Now that the company needs to rework the affected OnePlus Watch 3 units, it’d require some time to get the new batch ready. As a result, OnePlus has now announced to push the open-sales date of the Watch 3 to April.
Previously, OnePlus announced that it would kick off open-sales starting stoday, February 25. But, that’s not happening now. OnePlus has further noted that it’ll announce the revised open-sales date as soon as possible.
