OnePlus Watch 3 Drops To $349 Permanently Following Tariff-Induced Price Hike

After being delayed due to a typo and returning with a massive price hike, the OnePlus Watch 3 has dropped back down to a reasonable price of $349.99.

The OnePlus Watch 3 launched in February to a price of $329.99, slightly up from the $299.99 of its predecessor. That came with some design upgrades and even longer battery life, but all of the best aspects of the original device. But a “Meda In China” typo on the back left OnePlus to revamp its inventory, shutting down sales for a few weeks. Earlier this month, OnePlus Watch 3 returned, but with a drastic price increase.

When it returned on April 10, the OnePlus Watch 3 had jumped from $329 to $499, an increase of over 50%, and a massive new cost for customers. At the time, the company didn’t offer an explanation for the price hike, but it was abundantly clear it was due to the ongoing US tariff situation.

Now, the price has dropped, and OnePlus has confirmed “market conditions,” a.k.a. tariffs, were to blame.

The company explains in a statement sent to 9to5Google:

On April 10, the price of the OnePlus Watch 3 was increased to $499.99 in the U.S. due to the current market conditions. After further evaluation, we’re pleased to share that recent adjustments in our supply chain have allowed us to pass some savings back to those who are interested in purchasing the OnePlus Watch 3 in the U.S. As a result, the OnePlus Watch 3 in the U.S. is now available at its new price of $349.99; this is the final MSRP price and will not be changed going forward.

It’s unclear what supply chain “adjustments” have been made to lessen the impact of tariffs, but it’s good news for buyers. The mere $20 price jump from the original MSRP is a much easier pill to swallow, especially as OnePlus is committing to leaving this new Watch 3 price in place. The company says this is the “final MSRP” and “will not be changed going forward.”
