OnePlus Pad 2 Update Improves Security, Performance & Live Alerts

A new update has started to roll out to the OnePlus Pad 2, and it improves security, performance, and Live Alerts, amongst other things. Almost every single changelog entry is placed in the ‘System’ section.

This update is marked as OxygenOS 15.0.0.401, and it delivers the December 2024 Android security update. Once you install it, you’ll be able to migrate live photos from iOS devices using the Clone Tablet option.

With this update, OnePlus also introduced the AI Reply feature to recommend replies based on the chat context with support for diverse language styles. This should, in turn, make responses more natural.

Every other entry in the changelog sits in the ‘System’ section. So, regarding Live Alerts, which is OnePlus’ take on Apple’s Dynamic Island, basically. This update allows you to see the status of the torch in live alerts, and the charging information too. On top of that, you can also see Spotify info up there.

You’ll also be able to drag a floating window in order to change it to full screen. This update fixes a display issue with existing icons on the status bar when a Live Alerts capsule is displayed.

System stability and performance have been improved, and the same goes for battery life

The system stability has been improved in some scenarios, and the same goes for the overall system performance. The battery life on the OnePlus Pad 2 has also been extended, says OnePlus.

The last entry in the changelog says that the issue where the home screen might flicker when you switch between landscape and portrait modes has been fixed.

Do note that the rollout for this update has started in India. It will spread to other markets rather quickly, though, and that will happen in stages. So you may have to wait a bit, but the update is coming.
