OnePlus Built A MagSafe Power Bank So Good, IPhone Users Are Buying It

OnePlus has launched a surprisingly great MagSafe-style power bank — and it’s so good, even iPhone users should take notice. The Slim Magnetic Power Bank offers a sleek 5,000mAh capacity in a durable, ultra-thin design that works with any phone. While charging speeds could be faster, its portability and versatility make it one of the best wireless battery packs of 2025.

Ah, OnePlus, the popular Apple accessory manufacturer.

Sure, we all know OnePlus is known for producing great products that undercut a lot of the competition. For example, the OnePlus 13 might be the best phone released in 2025, and yet, it’s about $400 cheaper than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Speaking of the OnePlus 13, the company added MagSafe this year. Sorta. Instead of including the magnets inside the phone with the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R, they are included in the cases. Which meant that OnePlus needed to make some MagSafe accessories. Especially since a lot of OPPO’s products also have MagSafe now.

In comes the OnePlus Slim Magnetic Power Bank. This is a 5,000mAh capacity MagSafe power bank that is also extremely slim. Which is exactly what I want from a MagSafe battery pack. I don’t want a huge chonky battery attached to my iPhone when it’s charging. I want something slim and lightweight, and OnePlus achieved that with the Slim Magnetic Power Bank.

The OnePlus Slim Magnetic Power Bank has a 5,000mAh capacity and can charge any phone at up to 15W (7.5W for iPhone).

It’s not meant to fully charge your phone

One of the things to keep in mind with the OnePlus Slim Magnetic Power Bank is that this is not meant to fully charge your phone. And it won’t. Especially seeing as it only has a 5,000mAh capacity. Even for the phone it is designed for – OnePlus 13 – it has a smaller capacity than the phone. This is meant to get you through the day without worrying about your battery. And it does just that.

This is fine, though, because the OnePlus 13 should get you through a heavy day of usage with ease. I’ve been using it off and on since December, and have almost never killed it in a single day. At CES and MWC, I used it as my daily driver, and it was the first phone I used that did not need to be charged halfway through the day. In fact, I only charged it overnight during CES and MWC. Which is very impressive.

Super slim, sleek, and stylish

The battery pack itself is only about a third of an inch thick, or 0.88cm. That makes it super slim and barely adds any weight to your phone when it is attached. It’s also made of aerospace-grade materials, which makes it strong and durable. In fact, I’ve been carrying this in my bag for the past couple of months, and it has yet to have a scratch or any kind of damage. Whereas my TORRAS MagSafe battery, which is also fairly thin, has a couple of dents. And that’s probably not good, but it’s still working.

The best part about this accessory is that I barely even notice when it is attached to my iPhone. Which makes me use it a lot more often than I need to.

There’s still room for improvement

The only real complaint I have about the OnePlus Slim Magnetic Power Bank on the iPhone is the charging speed. It only charges at 7.5W wirelessly. This is because it is not a MagSafe-certified device. So it’s stuck at a lower charging speed. However, for those worried about the battery health of your phone, this is actually perfectly fine. Charging more slowly over wireless means that your battery health is going to remain better for a longer time. Though I will say, I’ve exclusively charged my iPhone 16 Pro over MagSafe since getting it on launch day, and it has 174 cycles, still at 100%.

What I would like to see in a newer model is faster charging speeds for all devices. It would be really great to see faster than 15W even on OnePlus devices. Keep in mind that the OnePlus 13 can charge wirelessly at up to 50W. And I’d also like to see a second size. OnePlus should offer this battery pack in a 5,000mAh and a 10,000mAh capacity.

While I do prefer this thinner 5,000mAh option, I do carry a 10,000mAh MagSafe battery with me for different trade shows. I typically need to charge my phone a couple of times a day at CES or MWC. Because I’m using the phone so much.

No matter your phone, you should buy this battery

One of the smart things that OnePlus did here was to make the Slim Magnetic Power Bank work well with any phone. This wasn’t hard to do, since it’s just wireless charging with a magnet. But making it work with any phone, and advertising it to work with any phone, is a good move. Despite the slower speed on iPhones.

I don’t think OnePlus will launch a predecessor to this battery pack next year, though I would definitely like one with faster speeds and an option for a larger battery.
