One UI 8 Lets You Increase The Size Of Home Screen Widgets

The first beta of One UI 8 rolled out today for the Galaxy S25 series, and it brought some of the most useful features. Earlier in the day, we reported on some changes related to Multi-Window mode. But that’s not the only change the latest beta has introduced. If you often add widgets to your Galaxy smartphone’s home screen, this news is for you. One UI 8 now gives an extra size option for widget resizing on the Galaxy smartphone.
While expanding and shrinking the size of widgets makes your home screen visually appealing, Samsung left its users with a fixed widget size for years. In other words, you couldn’t make them look bigger, as the options were limited. Fortunately, One UI 8 is here to change that.
As Android Authority notes, the One UI 8 Beta offers an extra size option for the widgets. You can now resize your widget to make it look bigger on the home screen. Previously, a widget used to take up three rows of your home screen, and that was it. You couldn’t make it bigger.
However, One UI 8 lets you go one step further, as your widgets can take up to four rows. You can check the difference in the screenshots attached below. From the looks of it, Samsung previously fixed the 3×4 size for all the widgets that show up on the home screen. However, that has changed. Now, it seems the supported widget size is 4×4.

Other One UI 8 features
If you had issues taking a glance at your widget because it looked small, the new change should fix that. Other than an extra widget size option, One UI 8 has introduced a bunch of changes. You can search for any files on your Samsung Galaxy device easily with the help of new filters. That’s not all; One UI 8 also offers deeper integration for older Galaxy Buds models.
