One UI 7 Is Here! Rolling Out To Samsung Galaxy S24, Fold 6 & Flip 6

After months of waiting, the One UI 7 update is finally here. Samsung has started rolling out the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 update to the Galaxy S24 lineup, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It’s not just a minor refresh. This is a big one, packed with a fresh design, performance improvements, and a greater emphasis on Galaxy AI.

If you’re running the One UI 7 beta, you should get a small over-the-air update. If you’re still on One UI 6, prepare for a 5.2GB download, so make sure you’re on WiFi. The update also includes the April 2025 security patch.

What’s new in One UI 7?

One of the changes One UI 7 is bringing to the table is the redesign of the notification shade and Quick Panel. It puts them into separate pages for a cleaner look. Samsung has integrated the volume slider into the Quick Panel and redesigned notifications with a new pill-shaped look and larger icons. Samsung’s stock apps and widgets are also getting a visual overhaul, featuring rounded corners and more customization options.

However, as pleasing as its aesthetics are, One UI 7 isn’t just about looks. Samsung has packed in some quality-of-life upgrades.

For example, the multitasking view has been refined with smoother animations. Folders on the home screen can now expand to let you open apps without even entering the folder. Lock screen widgets are more flexible, too, with better clock customizations.

One of the standout additions is the new “Now Bar.” This pill-shaped widget lives on the lock screen and status bar and shows helpful information. This includes sports scores, media controls, or your workout progress from Samsung Health. It feels a bit like Apple’s Dynamic Island Live Activities but with a Samsung spin.

Galaxy AI is also getting smarter with One UI 7. The Writing Assist feature can help polish your grammar or even reformat your text. Audio Eraser cleans up your recordings, and Samsung has updated its camera app to make one-handed use easier, which definitely helps, considering how hilariously huge our phones have gotten.

The update will also eventually be released for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, the Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup, and the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup later this month.
