If you have an older Galaxy smartphone and are waiting for Samsung to add new camera features, you might be in luck. The Galaxy S25 lineup phones have some exclusive camera features, thanks to One UI 7. But, the good news is that those camera features might be added to older Galaxy smartphones with the One UI 7.1 update. Wondering which camera features we’re talking about? Well, keep reading.
Samsung might add these camera features to older Galaxy phones with One UI 7.1
The Galaxy S25 series’ camera app now has ten new filters, six of which give your photos a retro look. What’s interesting is that these filters are also customizable. You can always adjust the saturation levels, contrast, and color temperature as you like. Since AI is a big part of One UI 7, there are some AI filters that give your photos a professional touch. So, if you are a fan of camera filters, stay hopeful.
Don’t worry if you’re into videos. The “Log Video” format is another new camera feature available on the latest Galaxy S25 series phones. It enables video editors to play around with colors to make videos look more professional. While the format is available in the Pro video mode, Samsung allows customizing necessary settings to bring it to the standard video mode.
Speaking of video, the Galaxy S25 series phones have the 10-bit HDR Video feature enabled by default. Your videos will now look richer in colors and more true to life. Besides, it ensures capturing details in any lighting conditions, making your low-light videos even clearer.
Another cool camera feature on the Galaxy S25 series is the virtual aperture. It is a great feature for those looking to add DSLR-like blur effects in portrait videos. You can access this feature by switching to the ExpertRAW mode. Moreover, Motion Photo and Single Take are a few other camera features that Samsung might add to older Galaxy smartphones with the One UI 7.1 update.
Last year’s Ultra might be the first old Galaxy phone to receive the above features
All that said, it’s not clear which Samsung Galaxy phone would receive these features first. But, as a wild guess, let’s say it’ll be the Galaxy S24 Ultra. That’s simply because it was Samsung’s flagship smartphone of last year. If you have any other Galaxy phones from previous years, the above features might also come your way… but we’ll see.
