Next-Gen HONOR Foldables Could Get A Major Battery Boost

According to a new report, next-gen HONOR foldables could get a major battery boost. The devices in question are the HONOR Magic V4 and HONOR Magic V Flip 2. This information comes from Smart Pikachu, a tipster.

Both next-gen HONOR foldables will get a major battery boost, it seems

He claims that HONOR is currently testing a 6,000mAh battery for the Magic V4, or Magic V5. The number ‘4’ is considered unlucky in China, so HONOR could opt to skip it. In any case, this new battery would be a major boost compared to the HONOR Magic V3, as that phone includes a 5,150mAh battery. Even that capacity was more than enough to provide great battery life, though. So… our expectations are high.

The HONOR Magic V Flip 2 details are still unknown, but that device is also expected to get a battery boost. The original Magic V Flip has a 4,800mAh battery on the inside, and it also offers very good battery life.

The HONOR Magic V3 is still the thinnest book-style foldable out there, but not for long

The HONOR Magic V3 is still the world’s thinnest book-style foldable. That will seemingly change soon, based on the words of OPPO’s CEO. The OPPO Find N5 is coming next month and will become the world’s thinnest foldable.

What’s interesting is that the Magic V3 is already so thin that it feels like a regular smartphone in the hand. OPPO is looking to emulate that, it seems. The OPPO Find N3 was not thick per se, but it is notably thicker than the HONOR Magic V3.

HONOR’s next-gen book-style foldable is likely coming in Q3 2025

Things are getting very interesting in the foldable market, that’s for sure. The HONOR Magic V4, or whatever its name ends up being, is expected to arrive mid-year. The Magic V3 launched in July last year.

The Magic V3 was announced for global markets at IFA 2024, so its successor will likely make its way to IFA 2025. In other words, the global variant is likely coming in September this year.
